Our journey from Kristiansund northwards to Bodø followed the Norwegian west coast, mainly along the so-called 'Kystriksveien' - the Coastal Route. Many kilometres, many car ferries and a lot of rain accompanied us along the way. Several times we spent a few days in small and warm accommodations, and we used the few dry days to explore rural areas and go on shorter hikes. One great advantage of the wet summer is that there are berries and mushrooms everywhere, and we often picked our own wild Norwegian foods to add to our meals.
